Leon Eixenberger has studied experimental drawing with Thomas August Günther and at the Institute for Spatial Experiments at the University of the Arts Berlin with Olafur Eliasson as well as at the Academy of Arts Munich with Olaf Nicolai.
Among others he was part of shows at Vitamin Creative Space Guangzhou (curated by Hu Fang), Neue Nationalgalerie Berlin (curated by Christina Werner), Museum of Modern Arts Addis Abeba, Hamburger Bahnhof Berlin (curated by Sven Beckstette), Kunstverein München (curated by Post Brothers and Chris Fitzpatrick), Goethe Institute Sao Paulo (curated by Eric Ellington), Hebbel am Ufer Theatre Berlin (curated by Ricardo Carmona), Scharaun Project Space for Architecture Berlin (curated by Jaro Straub), Public Art Munich with Kammerspiele München (curated by Joana Warszaw) and Museum für Fotografie Berlin (invited by Nina Schuiki)
He was awarded Grants by the LfA Förderbank Bayern, the Kulturstiftung des Bundes, the Stiftung Kunstfonds, the Hans und Charlotte Krull Foundation, the government of Styria Austria, and the ‚Un-common Venice‘ Competition for the 14th architecture Biennale in Venice.
